Thelma May Arvin

Thelma May Arvin, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away November 20, 2019. She was born August 14, 1935, in Brown County, Indiana, to Ray Allen Porter and Mary Cordelia Derringer Porter.

Thelma is survived by daughters Sheila Arvin and Sheryl Sharpe (husband, Daniel); son Bud Arvin (wife, Cindy); grandsons Benjamin Sharpe (wife, Ashlen) and Ethan Sharpe; granddaughter Lily Arvin; sisters Lois Sanders (husband, Marlow) and Audrey Beasley (husband, Harold); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years Gene Ottis Arvin; brothers Leo Porter, Allen Porter, and Jimmy Porter; sisters-in-law Doris Porter and Barbara Porter; as well as nephews Brent Beasley, Marvin Sanders, and Kenny Porter.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019, from 12-2 pm at Flanner Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, with a service following at 2 pm.
