Teresa "Terrie" Ann Roberts

Teresa “Terrie” Ann Roberts, 68, of Coatesville, Indiana, passed away on November 20, 2023. She was born on January 15, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to parents, Glenn A. and Corinne Hurst.
While in her 20s, she received her GED and in her 50’s she received an associate’s degree as a medical assistant with honors at Ivy Tech.

Teresa, a.k.a. Terrie was an amazing woman, mom, and grandma. One of her greatest joys in life was taking care of her children and grandchildren as they grew up. She taught her family how to love, respect others, to never give up, and to never forget that Family is everything. She was an unconditional ally for all. 

In December of 1970, Terrie married the love of her life, John Edward Roberts, Sr. Before his untimely passing on April 2, 2005, another of her greatest joys in life was being a military wife. As a military wife to her beloved husband, Terrie embraced the challenges and sacrifices that came with it. She stood by his side through thick and thin, supporting him in his service to our country. Terrie took great pride in being a military wife and held deep respect for those who serve. She was an independent woman and the backbone of the family. While Dad was deployed, she raised us kids, worked two jobs, and did anything that needed to be done. She never said I couldn’t do this. She just did it.

Terrie was also a true nurturer. Her smile and her laughter would brighten up a room, and her gentle hands would show and give so much unconditional love. She was a quiet person until she got to know you, but Mama did anything for anyone without batting an eyelash. She was a mother figure to so many of our friends and treated everyone like her own. She would do anything and everything to make us all feel her love.

She loved all the animals she encountered, and just life itself. She loved being outside on the lake, tending to her flowers, taking pictures of nature, picking four leaf clovers, and looking for the different shapes of the fall leaves. She loved sitting outside on the deck or porch drinking her coffee or hot tea with Dad.

Terrie has eight grandchildren that she loved so much. She would say that each one of them has something so very different and special about them. They were her world, and she loved making memories with them. She believed in each and every one of them and wished that they always knew how much she loved them.

Lastly, she never gave up without putting up a fight and she fought to her last breath. She was an extraordinary woman. She made us want to be the type of person that is caring, independent, and full of life. 

To always put family first, love hard, and be unconditionally yourself. That was our mom, Terrie.
Terrie is survived by her children, John (Debbie) Roberts, Jr., Glenn (Lindsey) Roberts and Heather (Kevin) Raisor; grandchildren, Daisy, Kodi, Kiersten, Lyndsay, Kyle, Ashley, Hailey, and Benson. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Edward Roberts, Sr.; and parents, Glenn and Corinne Hurst. 
Visitation for Terrie will be from 10-12pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite) – 9700 Allisonville Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46250, with a funeral service immediately following at 12pm. Entombment will take place at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
