Teddy D Back

Teddy D. Back, 76, of Indianapolis passed away on April 20, 2021.  He was born to the late Virgie and Dawson Back in Jeremiah, Kentucky on May 31, 1944.  Ted was a mechanic by trade, and retired from MSD Lawrence Township in 2007.  He loved God, his family, and his church.  He was known for his teasing and good-natured insults, but also for his willingness to help anyone who needed it.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and tinkering with lawnmowers.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sally Sue Back; his children, Dwana Back-Lamberson (Rick) and Dwayne Back (Jennifer); his brother Dean Back (Nancy); his grandsons Joseph Back and Dalton Back; and his great-grandson Jace Back.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lois Caldwell and his brother Don Back.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a service beginning at 1:00 pm at New Life Christian Fellowship:  1574 State Road 234, Fortville, Indiana 46040.  Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.  Because attendance for the service has limited capacity, please RSVP here if you plan to attend.  Ted will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.  Services are in the care of Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Ted to the Indiana Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to  New Life Christian Fellowship .
