Tammy Ann Wheeler

Tammy A. Wheeler, 52, of Spencer, Indiana passed away June 8, 2019. She was born June 14, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Betty Wade; the youngest of three children.

On November 3, 1992, Tammy began her career with Covance as a Laboratory Technician. She was dutifully employed for 27 years, most recently in the Investigative Services Department, until her battle with cancer prevented her from returning. Tammy loved her career and deeply cared for all those she worked with. 10 years ago, Tammy met the love of her life, Tony Wheeler, in true Indy fashion, at the racetrack. They were married just a few years later on May 19 and recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary. Tony credits Tammy with bringing him to the Lord, a gift he will not soon forget. She loved to cook and bake, especially her famous zucchini bread; you could always depend on her to bring a dessert to any pitch-in. Tammy collected angels and loved Christmas time, more particularly collecting houses for her ever growing Christmas village. She was a member of One Body Ministry Church, where she worked in the nursery alongside her church family. Though all of these things describe Tammy, she is best remembered as being an amazing mother, wife, grandmother, and friend to all. She loved spoiling her family and loved without boundaries. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to meet her. Peace can be found in knowing she loved the Lord and we will be reunited with her one day.

Tammy is preceded in death by her father, George Wade. Surviving to cherish her memory are husband, Tony Wheeler; mother, Betty Wade (Kluesner); children, Ryan Hankins, Charles Hankins III, Cynthia (Kyle) Rusie; step-son, Tony Wheeler II; siblings, Sandra and Frank Wade; grandchildren, Erika, Americas, Ryan Jr, Cadence, Samuel, and Haylee; as well as a host of extended family members, church family, and friends.

All are welcome to visit Friday, June 14 from 4-8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Funeral services will take place Saturday, June 15 at 11 AM at One Body Ministry, 3132 Carson Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227. She will be laid to rest immediately following services at Floral Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Tammy’s memory to One Body Ministry, her beloved church.
