Tamara Sue Sanders

September 15, 1957 — October 26, 2017

Tamara Sue “Tammy” (Gray) Sanders, 60, of Zionsville, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

Tammy was born September 15, 1957 in Indianapolis. She attended school in Speedway, and worked at St. Vincent New Hope helping those with disabilities. She married Forrest Sanders on December 6, 1980. They moved to Zionsville shortly thereafter, where they lived for more than 30 years, raising 2 children together.

Family was always first with Tammy. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother to both of her children, who were the most important part of her life. She was always there to help if someone needed her, and always did so with a smile. Tammy had many passions in life, including reading, art, gardening, sewing and crafts of all types, interior design, photography, and so much more. She enjoyed any opportunity to teach or share in her interests with others, and met many friends doing so.

Her beautiful memory will forever be cherished in the lives of many friends and a large family, including her husband and friend Forrest, daughter Meghan Petolino, and son Cody Sanders, all of Zionsville; her mother, two brothers: Gene Walkup, whose wife Mary was her dearest friend, and Steve Walkup, three sisters: Dawn Harms, Terri Sahifi, and Angie Bolante, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
