Tamara “Tammy” Lynn Barnes, 58 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 21, 2024. She was born in Muncie, Indiana, on April 21, 1966, to Larry and Phoebe Jordan and was raised in Cambridge City, Indiana.
Tammy was a 1984 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City and holds a B.A. in Telecommunications from Butler University where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority.
Tammy was a Project Manager for Customer Support with AT&T for 19 years where she managed fiber optic services for national projects perhaps most notably for the multiple Indianapolis based NBA All-Star Games broadcasts.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her most beloved daughters, Jordan Barnes and Alicia Barnes; brother Timothy Jordan of St. Louis, Missouri; three nephews and a niece and three great nieces; as well as Mother-in-law, Pauline Barnes of Columbus, Indiana; sister-in-law Cynthia Barnes of Santa Monica, California; 3 step brothers-in-law Earle “Robbie” Robinson of Indianapolis, Kenneth Robinson of Tampa Bay, Florida, Timothy Robinson of Indianapolis; 2 step sisters-in-law Diane Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia and Michelle Robinson of Indianapolis and their spouses; and five step nephews, 4 step nieces and 3 great step nephews. She is preceded in passing by her parents.
A Memorial Gathering for Tammy will be held on Friday, August 30 beginning at 2pm with a “Celebration of Life” Service at 3pm at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana.
