Sydney "Pat" Rice

Sydney “Pat” A. Rice, age 86, of Indianapolis, passed away January 25, 2018 after a long battle with dementia.  Sydney was born in Spencer, West Virgina on December 12, 1931 to the late Earl and Mary (Parsons) Hilt Starcher. She left this earth and is free from the disease that took away her memory and happiness.

Sydney was a graduate of Spencer High School. She was a loving homemaker, military spouse, and was a member of the Warren Baptist church for many years. She had a love for singing and espcially enjoyed singing in her church choir. She will truly be missed by her family but they take comfort in knowing she is with God and is no longer suffering.

Sydney is survived by her 3 sons Mike Rice, Tom Rice (Tammy), and Sean Rice (Julie); 6 siblings; granchildren Sarah Olgesby (Mike), Ashley Martinez (Danny), Josh Rice (Karen), and Johnathon Rice (Katie Allen); great-grandchildren, Logan, Shane and Payton Olgesby.

Sydney was preceded in death by her husband,William C. “Bill” Rice; and 4 siblings.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Warren Baptist Church Worship/Media Fund at 9501 E. 21st, Indianapolis 46229.
