Suzanne Geisendorff Doyle passed away on January 4, 2023 at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on May 16, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the only child of Victor and Hazel Geisendorff. She was married to her loving husband for 57 years, Morey David Doyle, D.V.M., whom she married on July 3, 1965 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Her husband practiced veterinary medicine for over 50 years as the owner of Eastwood Animal Clinic.
Suzy, as she was known, graduated from the operating room technician program at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette and worked many years at the old St. Vincent Hospital on Fall Creek and later at several out-patient surgery centers. She was working at St. Vincent Hospital the night of the Coliseum gas explosion at the Indianapolis fairgrounds on October 31, 1963.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and a former member of the Assistance League of Indianapolis. She loved taking cruises, having been on over 20, and spent much of most summers for over 40 years at the family summer home on Lake Wawasee.
She is survived by her husband, Morey David Doyle, D.V.M.; her children Morey Christopher Doyle (Bethanne), Andrew David Doyle (Colleen), and Victoria Marie Doyle (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Mary Margaret, Sarah Suzanne, Emma, Patrick Doyle, and Maitlin Craig; one great grandchild, Margot Suzanne Chambers. Suzy is also survived by brothers-in-law, Gordon Doyle, Esq. (Marilyn), Craig Doyle, Esq. (Lee); and sisters-in-law, Dede Doyle O’Connor (Timothy) and Nancy Doyle (widow of Mark Doyle, M.D.)
She was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Hazel Geisendorff; her brother-in-law, Mark Doyle, M.D., nephew, James Doyle; niece, Kimberly Doyle; and great-nephew, Liam O’Connor.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 from 4-7:30pm at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple, with a Rosary Service at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Indianapolis, on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 11am. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Seeds of Hope Inc. or St. Matthew Catholic Church.
