Suzan Elizabeth (White) Stoops, 78, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on April 17, 2021. Suzan was born in Terre Haute, IN on November 18, 1942 to parents, The Honorable Charles S. and Elizabeth H. (Hurt) White. She was a graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Butler University and master’s degree in Education from Indiana University. Suzan worked as a first-grade teacher for Indianapolis Public Schools, before leaving the workforce to devote herself full-time to raising her children. Later in life, she went back to college to earn her degree in Registered Nursing. During her nursing career, she worked for the Bellflower Clinic (Marion County Public Health Department.) Suzan was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, painting, drawing, traveling, Butler basketball, the symphony, IRT, cooking, and hosting the most fabulous dinner parties. Suzan was preceded in death by her parents, sister (Emilie San Clemente) and husband, Joseph Stoops. She is survived by her daughters, Christine “Christy” Matthews (Mark); Jennifer Kotlarczyk (John, Jr.), grandchildren (Sean Zerr, Caitlin & Kyle Kotlarczyk). Also surviving are several step-children, step-grandchildren and many dearly beloved friends. A memorial gathering and service will be held outdoors (weather permitting) on Monday, May 24, 2021. Friends may gather from 3pm - 4pm at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery (9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis) where graveside memorial services will immediately follow, beginning at 4pm. Burial will follow the services at the cemetery. In the event of rain, the gathering & services will be held in the Good Shepherd Chapel.
