Susan Jean Cardwell

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Susan Jean Cardwell (Hutchinson). She passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2018. She was born August 19, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Louise and Ruth Hutchinson.

Susan was a devout Catholic and attended St. Francis St. Clare in Greenwood, Indiana. She went to California to pursue nursing, but fate would keep her in Indiana. Upon obtaining her LPN, she attended Marian College and became a RN. Susan loved her family and enjoyed playing cards and bingo as well as crocheting.

She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 41 years, Carlie Cardwell; brothers, Louise Jr. and Jimmy; and granddaughter, Amanda. Surviving to cherish her memory are children, Jon (Jill) Cardwell, Julie Cardwell-Roe, and JoAnn (Joe) Raetano; brother, Joe (Nancy) Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tammy, Nathan, Caitlynn, Matthew, Marisa, Melinda, and Miranda; 3 great-grandchildren as well as a host of loving extended family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, October 12, 2018 at 2 PM at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 435 W. Troy Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46225. Susan will be entombed immediately following services.
