SUSAN JANE KISSLER
Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Susan Jane (Myers) Kissler, 71 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully October 31st at home surrounded by family. Susan was born August 6, 1949 in Cincinnati to the late Dean and Betty Myers. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Don Kissler; son Andy (Jennifer) Kissler and their two children- Liam and Ava, of Noblesville; and daughter Sarah (Dan) Maple and their two children- Piper and Baby, of Speedway. She is lovingly remembered by her brother Gary (Colette) Myers, of Miami; Sally (Mike) Gehlert, of Greenwood; Winnie (Alan) Theobald, of Springboro; several nephews and a niece.
Susan is a 1967 graduate of Anderson High School in Cincinnati. She then attended Eastern Kentucky University, where she met the love of her life and earned her Bachelor’s degree in education in 1971. She taught 5th grade in Park Hills, Kentucky and was an instructional assistant at MSD of Decatur Township for over 20 years, where she retired in 2010.
Susan was most passionate about her role as Mimi and supporting Andy and Sarah with their various sports growing up and as coaches. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers fan and loved to give her input on game performances. Susan also had an interest in musicals, sharing girls’ days out with Sarah and Sally, and shopping for anything, especially Christmas gifts.
She will forever be remembered for her love of others. She cherished her family and friendships and had a gift for making everyone feel special and finding fun in life.
