Susan (Susie) Elaine (Knoy) Brown

65, of Zionsville passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born April 11, 1952 in Lafayette to the late Coy Knoy and Alice (Vanderkolk) (Knoy) Linder. Following Coy’s death, Alice married Vincent Linder, who was a father to Susie.

Susie attended Battle Ground High School and graduated in 1970, as a member of the last graduating class at the school. On September 18, 1971 she married Gary Brown in Lafayette and they were married for fifteen years.

Susie loved her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews very much. She will be remembered for her love for children and the countless ways she expressed her love with her big heart. She devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her grandchildren. She found great joy in sharing her gift of cooking and baking for family and friends. Susie also worked as an elementary school reading tutor at Battle Ground Elementary and as a secretary at Tecumseh Middle School.

Surviving are two daughters, Mollie Callahan (Michael) of Zionsville, and Sally Brown of West Lafayette; a son, Jason Brown of West Lafayette; two brothers, Ronald Knoy (Alice) of West Lafayette, and Dennis Linder (Pam) of Brookston; sister-in-law, Louise (Knoy) Parker of Lafayette; grandchildren, Kyle, Grace, and Christian Callahan of Zionsville, Jacob Fleck of Vincennes, Halle Brown of West Lafayette, and Max and Mason Brown of West Lafayette. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Knoy and a daughter-in-law, Stacy Brown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Caring Center Giving Tree program. Checks should be made out to St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church with Caring Center Giving Tree in memo line.

Friends may call from 9:30am until 11:30am on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church at 1870 West Oak St. in Zionsville. Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00pm with Rev. Fr. Dennis J. O’Keeffe presiding. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Lafayette.
