Susan D. Humphries

Susan Diane Humphries, 64, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Harbor Manor Nursing Facility in Noblesville, IN.  Susie was born on May 16, 1955 in Indianapolis to Richard Eugene and Frances Eileen Russell.  She graduated from Warren Central High School and shortly after married Dennis Ray Kincaid, who passed in February 2009 after 36 years of marriage.  Susie remarried on June 11, 2011 to her devoted husband, Joseph Charles Humphries.

Susie lived in and around Indianapolis her entire life.  She had an abiding faith and iron will, which sustained her through her life, and the many medical challenges she faced.  Susie had worked in the early years for the Texscan Corp.  Her vocations later included social service duties focusing on children, abused women, and the elderly.  She also served for a time as a traveling nurse.  She was devoted to animals all of her life and especially her pets, Tobias and Taylor.

Susie and Joe attended Fishers UMC in Fishers and also Emmanuel UMC in Noblesville.

She was preceded in death by her mamaw, her parents, her first husband Dennis, and her stepchildren Tammy and Scott Kincaid.  She is survived by her husband Joe Humphries, brother Richard E. Russell II, and sister-in-law Deanna Russell.  She is also survived by 2 nieces Lisa and Jena and a nephew Rick as well as a stepson Brian.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 12 to 2 PM and will be immediately followed by the service at Flanner Buchanan -Washington Park East in Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association or the ASPCA.
