Susan Burke Morgan

Susan “Susie” Burke Morgan, 70, passed away December 4, 2021.  She was born January 2, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas and Alice (Hogan) Burke, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Wayne Morgan on April 15, 1972 and they had one son, Alan Morgan, in 1973.

Besides being a mother, she was a military spouse, Active and Reserve, for 39 years; a saleswoman; worked in banking; worked for an airline; and retired after 16 years working for the Pike Township Fire Department.  She was active in church music ministries in several parishes around the country over the years; was an enthusiastic amateur actor who appeared as an extra in a couple movies; and sang in a jazz band.  She loved to dance and to travel.

She is survived by her loving husband Wayne, son Alan, three siblings: Joe Burke, Debbie (Burke) Nakayama, and Tim (Delinda) Burke, in-laws Rick (Glenda) Royster, Sue (Pat) Gurthet, Jill (Bobby) Hanby as well as numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2021, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 3354 West 30^th Street, Indianapolis.  Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 9^th, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.
