Susan Lee Anson, 85, of Carmel, Indiana passed away peacefully in her home January 11, 2025.
Susan was born in Noblesville, Indiana on December 18, 1939, to the late Isaac Jones and Margaret (McMurtry) Corum. She grew up on the family farm outside of Hortonville. Susan was a graduate of Westfield High School and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry, at Hortonville United Methodist Church on December 21, 1958. He preceded her in passing on January 30, 2022. They were happily married for 64 years.
Susan was a smart, patient, kind, and gentle human being. Her marriage was one of loving devotion. Susan was selfless and always put her family first. Her children and grandchildren learned and grew from her kindness and creativity.
Susan's love of home made her house the center of activity as the family grew. Many celebrations, family games, and rooting for the Colts and Pacers happened at her house. She was the master of Jeopardy and word games and impossible to beat!
Susan was a devoted sister, wife, mom, grandma, and cat lover. She was a natural caregiver for all who crossed her path and was affectionately called Mom and Grandma by all who met her. She will always be living in our hearts and minds and will be forever missed.
She is survived by her devoted and loving sister, Sheree (Steve) Edwards, who always made time to visit and make her laugh, three children: Laurie (John) Gough, Lisa (Dennis) Gardner, Jeff (Diana) Anson; 8 grandchildren: Michael Gardner, Nicole Gardner, Christopher Gardner, Niki Ford, Abbey Bass, Torey Williamson, Hope Gough, and Grace Gough; 10 great-grandchildren: Treyton Gardner, Jayden Finkney, Trey Howard, TyIan Howard, Ruby Ford, Leo Ford, August Ford, Jessie Bass, Leland Williamson, and Kylee Williamson.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of Paradigm Hospice, for the amazing care they provided for Susan.
