Susan Ann Krider Johnson

Susan Ann (Krider) Johnson, 70, Fishers, passed away July 15, 2022. She was born in Elkhart, IN to Orin George and Vivian Lucile (Woods) Krider. She graduated from Concord High School in Elkhart, IN and went on to earn her master’s degree from Indiana University. In 1970 she won the Conn Music Award for music excellence. She directed the choir at Faith United Methodist Church in Elkhart, IN and Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, AK. Susan taught her first year in St. Vincent School in Elkhart, then 30 years in Elkhart Community Schools, and chose to continue as a substitute teacher after retirement.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, David George Krider.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, William Anthony “Tony” Johnson, children, Michael Anthony (Leslie) Johnson, sister, Kay (Doug) Flauding, brother, James (Susan) Krider, and cousins Angie Minotti, Rita Micya, and Karen Suchar.
Memorial contributions may be made to the music program at Roosevelt Elementary School, 201 W Wolf Ave, Elkhart, IN 46516.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday July 22nd at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis. Online condolences may be shared at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
