Steven Ryan

Steven Gilbert Ryan, 58, passed away on December 28, 2022.

He was born in Indianapolis on February 29, 1964, to Gilbert and Beverley Ryan.

Steve was diagnosed with Downs Syndrome at birth and attended Preschool at Cold Springs School, after which he attended Brookside Elementary. He received a completion certificate from Lawrence North High School in 1983. Steve was very involved in the Boy Scouts and competed in Special Olympics in Bowling, Basketball and Track and Field. He also enjoyed swimming, camping (in dry, sunny weather) and traveling. Throughout his life, Steve visited around 40 states and enjoyed Disney, Universal Studios, Gatlinburg, the Tetons, and many other destinations. Any trip to a hotel was a trip to Hawaii. His favorite place to go was South Bend, Indiana where he loved to visit his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is survived by his parents; sister, Pam Bloss, niece, Katie Bloss and nephews Chris Bloss and Jacob Bloss (Amber), great-nephews, Conner and Keegan Bloss, great-niece Kendall Bloss along with several aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by Grandparents, Charles and Lucille Ryan and Earl and Mildred Fogle along with uncles Ron Peterson, Gene Ryan and Edward Ryan (Bud) and Aunts Shirley Ryan and Nora Ryan

Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46229, with burial to follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until time of service.
