Steven D. Morphey, 65, of Indianapolis passed away on March 5, 2023, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was born on October 16, 1957, in Kankakee, Illinois to parents, Gerald and Shirley Morphey. Steve had a passion for many things, including riding his Harley and working in his yard. He held many titles in his life, but the one he was most proud of was "Dad". He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He was always available to help with a project or be present at any activity involving his daughters or grandchildren. His heart for helping others was never ending- he was known for selflessly giving his time, knowledge, and resources to anyone who was in need. Steve was a successful entrepreneur, starting Morphey Construction in 1998. His employees considered him to be more than an employer- many thought of him as a close friend, mentor, and father-figure. His success was driven with an abundance of appreciation for those who helped him. He was known for writing notes of gratitude to those who were integral to his life and business. Steve was a problem-solver, risk-taker, pep-talker, out-of-the-box thinker, noticer, jokester, full of wisdom, perfectionist. He will be missed more than can be expressed in words.
