Steve Schulmeyer

Steven John Schulmeyer, 68, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, ending a 5-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Indianapolis on September 15, 1953 to the late John I. and Esther L. (Herbig) Schulmeyer. Steve was a 1971 graduate of Ben Davis High School and proud Purdue Boilermaker Alum, graduating with a B.S. in Geoscience in 1976.

Steve is an avid sports fan of the Colts, the Boilermakers, IndyCar and NASCAR. He made many contributions to the City of Indianapolis, where he worked for over 40 years, managing various projects including the Downtown Canal, Fall Creek Place, Keystone Enterprise Park, Union Station, and the old RCA Dome. He served as a Coach in the Ben Davis Soccer Club for 15 years and Club President for 3 years.  He is a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and has volunteered with VBS, Trunk-or-Treat and many other committees including the Trustees.

He leaves his daughter Stephanie Schulmeyer; sister Nancy (Don) Cushman; nephew Brian (Elizabeth) Cushman; great-nephew Hunter Cushman; many close friends and his dog Liz.
