Stephanie Leigh Ashby

March 12, 1975 — January 14, 2017

Stephanie Leigh Ashby passed away January 14, 2017. Stephanie was born March 12, 1975 in Louisville, KY to Steven and Martha Jo Pysher (Graham). The family moved often for Steve's career. This gave Stephanie the opportunity to touch lives in Louisville, Marion, IL, Duluth, MN, Wisconsin Dells, WI and Danbury, CT. In the Dells and Danbury, Steph was an athlete and a percussionist in the pep and marching bands. After graduating from Danbury High, she returned to Louisville to march for the Cardinals and earn her Bachelor's degree in Education. After graduating, Stephanie began a decade and a half career with Borders Bookstore that saw her travel around the world opening stores and training employees. She moved to Boston in the early 2000's for a role training trainers and impacting countless lives. In 2004, Stephanie followed her parents West when they moved to California, she moved to Las Vegas, NV. On a night in late July of 2005, she went on a first date with Ryan Ashby that changed many lives. In 2007, the two married and moved to Fishers,IN and Steph paused her career. She would do one more tour with Borders before the company closed up shop. In Indiana, Stephanie found her true callings as a baker, decorator and an Aunt to nieces and nephews related and adopted. She and Ryan opened The Kitchen at Ashby Manor in 2014 where she created delicious and beautiful treats for all occasions. Steph was a loving wife, a dedicated daughter, a loyal friend, a one of a kind Aunt, and a magnificent mother to her dog, Chester. She made everyone in her world better. That world is a little dimmer, glitters a little less and is not quite as sweet without her in it.
