Stanley Wayne Barnes, 85, of Zionsville, Indiana passed away Monday, May 02, 2022.  Stanley was born on August 24, 1936, in Sullivan, Illinois to Wilford Earl and Ida Grace (Grider) Barnes.  Stan graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University where he attended on a basketball scholarship and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.  Upon graduation he began his career at National Distillers and Chemical Company in Tuscola, Illinois.  After nine years in Tuscola he accepted a job opportunity in New York City where he traveled  both domestically and internationally.  After 16 years in New York Stan made a career change purchasing TransCity Terminal Warehouse and Transfer Trucking, Inc.  Stan was the Owner and President for 10 years, retiring in 1993.
Stan loved to play golf and he was a member of The Country Club of Indianapolis and Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.  He cherished spending time with his family, watching sporting events, and was an avid reader.
Stan is survived by his wife Carolyn Ann (Seybert) Barnes to whom he was married for 64 wonderful years.  He is also survived by their children, Sheryl (Tim) Kolakowski, Mark (Belinda Sturm) Barnes, Douglas (Carol) Barnes, Jean (Mark) Ramser, and his grandchildren Christopher and Daniel Kolakowski, Michael Verrill, Grace Modlin, Jacqueline Crawford, Olivia Peters, Emilie Barnes, and Carson Barnes as well as his great grandchildren Jackson and Carter Kolakowski, Harper Modlin and Ava Crawford.
A Private Service will be held on May 6 followed by a Private Burial on May 7.
