Stanley L. Winegardner (age 71), passed away peacefully on March 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 26, 1948 to the late Charles and Louise (McClellan) Winegardner in Indianapolis, IN. Stan graduated from Pike High School in 1967 and joined the U.S. Navy in 1972, serving bravely in the Vietnam War. Stan worked for Indianapolis Power and Light for 27 years and was a jack of all trades and a master of all. He enjoyed gardening, custom woodworking, and spending time with his family. Stan leaves a legacy of love and integrity with his family and those who knew him. He has left behind wonderful memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. We are grateful for each and every day we got to see his glowing smile, and for the lessons learned and all the jokes we shared. We will miss him more than words can express. We love you. Stanley leaves to cherish his beloved wife, Patty of 40 years, and his loving children, Rick Bales (Pam), Matthew Bales (Heather), and Victoria Johnson; his brothers, Steve (Cindy) and Scott Winegardner (Ann); 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 12-4 pm at Flanner Buchanan, Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11am at the funeral center. Burial will follow with full military honors.
