Stanley A. “Scoop” Taylor, Jr., 70, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018.
He was born on May 26, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Stanley A. Taylor, Sr. and Ruth Lenora (Suits) Taylor. Scoop was a graduate of Warren Central High School where he excelled in athletics. He was drafted into the US Army and served honorably during the Vietnam War. Scoop was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed supporting his granddaughters and attending their extracurricular events.
Scoop is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Cathy (Orlopp) Taylor; step-children, Angie (Chris) Gendron and Matt Kiesling; granddaughters, Rylie, Sydney and Annie; sisters, Pat O’Brien and Janet Dyar.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 2-4pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. A celebration of Scoop’s life will take place immediately following at 4pm, also in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Legion Post 495.
