In Loving Memory of Stacey Gene McGregor DeWeese
November 26, 1962 – April 18, 2025
Stacey age 62, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 18, 2025. A beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt and friend, Stacey's life was marked by her thoughtfulness, warmth and a steadfast devotion to the people and passions that shaped her world.
Born on November 26, 1962, Stacey attended Howe High School and went on to work at the American Legion 40 and 8 Club and later as a school lunch server, where her kindness and good-natured spirit touched the lives of countless students and colleagues alike.
Stacey’s heart was most at home in nature and among her loved ones. She cherished time spent camping under the stars, casting a line into quiet waters, and sitting around a fire laughing with family and friends. Her love for animals was strong and music filled her days, mirroring her eclectic soul; from classic rock to jazz, she found joy and expression in every note.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jill Elaine Eastridge, and her brother, Michael Dean McGregor—whom she missed dearly and spoke of often with love.
Stacey is survived by her devoted wife, Jewel Van Dalsen, who stood by her side with unwavering love. She also leaves behind her cherished son, Shane DeWeese, of whom she was endlessly proud, her stepdad, Dan Eastridge, her loving sisters: Trisha McGregor (Tom Spaethe), Shelley Hendricks, and Jodie Rossell (Brad Rossell) and a close-knit circle of nieces and nephews, many of whom she helped raise and with whom she shared countless moments of joy, guidance, and deep connection. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and authenticity—one that will be carried forward by all who knew her.
A celebration of Stacey’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26th at Flanner Buchanan, Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229 with a memorial gathering from 2:00 – 3:00 PM followed by a memorial service 3:00 – 4:00 PM where friends and family will gather to honor her memory, share stories, and listen to the music she loved so dearly.
Though she has departed this world, Stacey’s spirit lives on—in the rustling trees of a wooded campsite, in the gentle strum of a favorite song, and in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know and love her.
Rest easy, Stacey. You are and will always be deeply loved, and you will be dearly missed.
