Shirley R (Wayman) Taylor “Nana”, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 22, 2018. She was born January 24, 1934 in Indianapolis to Cecil and Viola Wayman. She attended all 12 grades at the original Decatur Central High School, graduating in 1951. Her life’s work was as an administrator and Executive Secretary and raising a family. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist church as well as Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She is survived by her 4 children and legacy; Dale (Cindi) Taylor, Cindy (Joe) Angrick, Tresa (Gary) Robinette, and Jeff (Cindy) Taylor; siblings, Dale (Joyce) Wayman, Judy (Paul) Ranard, Larry (Suzanne) Wayman, Don (Sue) Richwine, grandchildren, Tom (Katy), Kim (Chris), Heather (Shawn), Daniel (Joanne), Nick (Allyson), Haley, Wyatt, Piper; great-grandchildren, Tyler (Meagan), Kinnedi, Kira, Gable, Tegan, Amber, Cole, Levi, Kacy, Ela, Logan, Kaylin (Brice); great-great grandchildren, Lilah and Emmett.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband George, her parents, Cecil and Viola, Step-father Charles Richwine, Step-mother Betty Wayman, and sisters, June Willoughby and Barbara Froman.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the funeral home at 10am. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband, George, at West Newton Cemetery.
