Shirley Jeanne Arthur

Shirley Jeanne Arthur, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019.

She was born on November 30, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Earl Richhart and Lenora Madge (Offenbacker) Winnings. Shirley was a graduate of Greenfield High School and worked for a short period of time with the Indianapolis Star Newspaper. She retired from St. Francis Hospital after 18 years of service working as a switchboard operator. Aside from work, Shirley enjoyed many interests; travelling to Brown County and Monticello, IN with her family, playing bingo and card games and dancing. She was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley and loved to watch criminal investigative shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order. Shirley was very active in her church memberships; formerly Zion United Church of Christ, and most recently Lifeway Church.

Shirley is survived by her daughters, JoAnn Allen, Jennifer Jung and Janet Moore; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Earl and Edward Richhart; and loving husband, Joseph Arthur.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 10-11am at Lifeway Church, with funeral services immediately following. Shirley will be laid to rest with her husband in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to Lifeway Church.
