Shirley Ellen Yegerlehner

Shirley Ellen Yegerlehner (Ward) passed away peacefully on March 3, 2020.

Shirley was born on March 23, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN. She graduated from Pike High School and held a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master’s degrees in History and Library Science, all from Indiana University. She was a librarian for IUPUI, retiring in 1999. Shirley was a world traveler and she spent much of her free time volunteering for the Ronald McDonald House.

She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Shirley is survived by her brother, Conley “Dick” Ward, her sons Kirk Yegerlehner (Beth) and David Yegerlehner (Michelle), her Son-In-Law, Joseph Rossie, her grandchildren, David Rossie (Katie), Braxton Yegerlehner, Benjamin Rossie, Ashley Vaughan (Chris), Lesley Mannen (Alex), Erika Yegerlehner, Jake Yegerlehner and Thomas Yegerlehner. Shirley has four great grandchildren, Henry Vaughan, Rebecca Rossie, Ruby Vaughan and Matthew Mannen.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Mabel Ward, Her husband, Mark Yegerlehner, her daughter, Rebecca Rossie, Her sister, Janet Zarndt and her Sister-In-Law, Mary Lou Ward.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 08, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville  from 1-3 PM followed by the funeral service funeral services at 3 pm and burial will be immediately following at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Sharing of memories and condolences is encouraged at www.flannerbuchanan.com  Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
