Shirley Ann Mercer

Shirley Ann Mercer, 63, of Indianapolis passed away October 11, 2017.

Shirley was born on July 28, 1954 to Robert and Francis Bland in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up in Decatur Township most of her life. She graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1972. Shirley absolutely loved the beach and took many trips to Florida with her family. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. However, her family was her number one passion and priority. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Francis and her brother, Phillip Bland.
She is survived by the mother who raised her, Elnora “Nonie” Russell; her children, Renee Palmer (William) and Shonakia Robinson (John); her brother, Larry Bland; her grandchildren, Sheriyah and Meriyah, Caitlin, Jason Jr., and William III; her great-grandchildren, Jace, Dixilynn, Renesmee, and Dalilyah; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 1PM. Visitation will be held prior that day from 10am-1pm. All will be held at Flanner Buchanan—Decatur Township. Shirley will be laid to rest at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
