Shirley A. (Cole) Romine (84)

Born in Paoli, raised in Bloomington and a long time Indianapolis resident preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth F. Cole and her husband Russell M. Romine.

Shirley was a real estate broker for 51 years and Broker/Owner of Alliance Real estate Group.  Active in her community, she was a volunteer with the 500 Festival, Past President of Clowes Hall Women’s Committee, Family Support Center Auxiliary, SCORE Club, and Republican Women in Neighborhood Services (WINS).  She was active with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra North Group, past member of the Children’s Bureau Board and a past president of the Children’s Bureau Foundation Board.  She served on the Metropolitan Indianapolis Zoning Board, Indy Public Safety Foundation Board and was active with the Presidents Round Table (PRT), the DAR Caroline Scott Harrison chapter and many other organizations.   A life member of the Indiana University Alumni Association she was also a member of Meridian Street United Methodist Church, and Meridian Hills Country Club.

Survivors:  Sons Rob Romine (Gail), Spencer C. Romine, and Brad L. Romine and her sister Sherry Cole Sykora.  She is also survived by grandchildren:  Jourdan Graham (Damon), Russell Romine, Jake Romine (Katelyn), Marie Romine and two nieces Kelli Abdon and Nicole Smith.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. at Meridian Street United Methodist Church followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m.  There will be reception at the church after the funeral service.  Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Bloomington, Indiana.
