Sherry L. Golden

Sherry L. Golden, 64, of Greenfield, IN passed away on August 21, 2019. Sherry was born on December 12, 1954 and raised on the east side of Indianapolis by her beloved parents, John and Kathy Fishburn Matthewson. She attended Lawrence Central High School and went on to work in managerial positions at various retailers over the years.

At the age of 18, Sherry married the love of her life, Jeff Golden, eloping in Canada, and honeymooning across the great lakes. Together they raised two adoring boys.

Sherry had a spark within and had a deep passion for the things she loved. Music was played often, and the outdoors was a sanctuary, she loved to hike with her husband . She also had a strong love for gardening and cooking for her family. As the years went on, she began to spend time crafting, perfecting the art of jewelry making of all kind.

Sherry is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Jeff Golden; sons, Scott (Nicole) Golden of Indianapolis and Jason (finance Jennifer McGuire) Golden of Fishers, grandchildren Andrew, Seth, Alexis and Chloe. She is also survived by her sisters Carol Mitchell, Pam Stow, Rhonda Perkins and brother Jimmy Matthewson.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents John and Kathy Matthewson, her brother-in-laws Greg Golden and Everett Mitchell and niece Amanda Tunell.

A visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis 46229, on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 5-6PM and a memorial service beginning at 6PM.
