Shelly L. Gidley

Shelly L. Gidley, 59, of Westfield passed away December 3, 2022.  She was born April 1, 1963, in Van Wert, Ohio, the daughter of Donald Evans and Sandra (Hughes) Evans.  She married James Gidley on October 6, 1990.

Shelly was a graduate of Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne where she received her bachelor’s degree.  Shortly after marrying James, they moved to the Indianapolis area, where they built a wonderful life and grew their family.  She was a long-time member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and PEO.  She had a successful career as a data analyst with Walker Information.  She and James enjoyed playing golf together, caring for their dachshunds, and traveling, but her greatest passion was being a dedicated wife and mother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, James Gidley; their two children, Dr. Patrick Gidley and Shannon Gidley; mother, Sandra Doudt; brother, Terry Evans; mother-in-law, Phyllis Gidley; and two brothers-in-law, Philip (Kristine) Gidley and Thomas (Jan) Gidley.  She was preceded in passing by her father, Donald Evans.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 4780 East 126^th Street.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the church and also one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, c/o IU Foundation, PO Box 7072, Indianapolis, IN 46207.  Online condolences may be shared by visiting www.flannerbuchanan.com.  Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Carmel.
