Shelby “Sis” Parks Newkirk

81, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on November 25, 2020.  She spent the last few days at home surrounded by family and loved ones.  She was born on January 21, 1939 in Orange County, Indiana to the late Howard and Lois Parks.  She was a graduate of Ben Davis High School.  She was a member of Lynhurst Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow F. Newkirk and siblings, Donnie and Sue.  She is survived by her children, Michael (Irene) Newkirk, Phillip (Terri) Newkirk, Pamela (Jeff) Hernandez, Charlotte Newkirk and Elaine (Don) Stevenson; siblings, Rip, Donovan, Mark and Debbie; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.  Visitation will be Saturday, December 5, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township.  Services will be private.
