Sheila Colleen Williamson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 6, 1951 to Wynema and Howard Knuckles. She had four siblings; Mona and Brent and her adopted brother and sister Andy and Brenda. She was raised with a strong Christian foundation through the Westlake Church of Christ. Her passion for singing was life-long, including her time at Ben Davis High School and Butler University where she traveled the world and sang as the youngest voice student for the Jordan Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts.
Sheila never met a stranger; she always showed kindness and selflessly gave a part of herself to everyone she met. She dedicated her life to helping others through her education with Martin University and Ball State University as well as through her work as the Founder and Clinical Director of Community Outreach Network Services where she helped thousands of people through counseling and mental health services.
Sheila served her community as a Chaplain for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department as well as her private prison ministry. She was also the first President of the Women’s Coalition for the American legion Auxiliary, post 85 in 1976.
Sheila taught others through the example she lived as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, leader, and friend.
Sheila went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2018 and is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Gene Williamson and her children, Heidi and Patrick O’Neal, Marc and Shara Hostetler, her step-daughters Tabatha, Teresa, and Shawna WIlliamson, and her grandchildren Thomas, Megan, Marq, Micheal, Niccolas, Jeremy, and Arahs.
She will be forever loved and never forgotten.
