Sharon D. Johnson, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on September 29th, 2024. She was born May 10th, 1942, to parents Basil and Maxine (Drake) Corrie.
Sharon grew up in Indiana and graduated from Arsenal Tech high school.
She was a very hard worker. For over 19 years, she was a line supervisor for Rath packing company. Then she went to work as for Entenmann's Bakery for 12 years, until she retired in 2000.
During a game of Bingo, Sharon met the love of her life, William “Bill” Johnson. On August 3rd, 1991, they wed and shared 34 wonderful years together.
She was a valued member of Heartland Church.
Sharon was a warm, loving woman with a smile that lit up the room. She had a passion for Bingo and loved to play cards. Sharon enjoyed being in nature, and looked forward to family gatherings, and picnics at Heritage Lake and Racoon State Park. While relaxing at home, she enjoyed bird watching on her porch. She was devoted to her family, and loved every moment spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, and beloved friends.
Sharon is survived by her husband William “Bill” Johnson; her son Jeff Hizer (Sally), stepson Sean Johnson (Robin), and stepdaughter Nicki Johnson; granddaughter Carrie; step grandchildren Ian and Austin; great-granddaughters Savanah and Destiny; great grandson Anthony; In-laws Diana (Bob), Patty, Eddie, and Coleen; cousin Richard Sizemore (Joella); and special friends Lieutenant Colonel Fred Spaulding and his wife Micki Spaulding.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Doug, Les, Sandy, and Larry; and her grandson Jeffrey Bruce Hizer.
Visitation will be Friday October 4th, from 11-1pm, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Her funeral will begin at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
