Selita Sue Stocking, 59, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away at home with her husband at her side on February 14, 2023. She was born on June 26, 1963, in Vacaville, California, to William Eugene and Andrea Lynn (Adair) Smith. Selita grew up in Sharpsville, Indiana. She attended Tri-Central High School in Sharpsville, where she formed lifelong friendships, followed by a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette.
Selita went on to work in sales at Cadillac Plastics in Indianapolis, Indiana before meeting her husband, Craig, at River Oaks Community Church in Carmel, Indiana. They were married in 1993 and began their lifelong love of golden retrievers. Selita was involved in her local church, especially the women’s ministry, and her children’s school. Over the years, Selita and Craig formed many strong friendships in Zionsville that have lasted through the decades. In the summer, she could be found at the beach with her family, drinking sweet tea, and working on her tan.
Selita will be remembered for her excellent cooking, sewing and decorating skills, and enjoyment of classic movies. Above all, she is known for her love of Purdue Basketball, as anyone in earshot while she was watching her Boilermakers would know.
She is survived by her parents, her sister, her husband of 30 years, their children Eric (SaraLynn) Stocking, Katie (Blake) Hadley, and grandson, Bennett.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023, at Zionsville Fellowship Church, located at 9090 W. Oak Street in Zionsville, Indiana. The funeral will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, also at Zionsville Fellowship Church.
