Sarah Mae Butler

Indianapolis, Indiana – Sarah Mae Butler, 72, passed away on July 23, 2024, peacefully at her home while comforted by her family. She was born on March 11, 1952, in Indianapolis, to parents Donald Lee & Barbara Joann (Wilson) Van Valkenburg.

 Sarah was a strong-willed woman who took pride in her work ethic. She was a factory floor worker for over twenty years at Ingersoll-Rand, helping in the manufacture of large tool and dye components.

More than her work though, Sarah loved her family and would always place them before herself. When she did find a little time, she loved to relax by working puzzles and watching television.

Sarah is survived by her children, Chris Trammell (Khrysie), and Barbara Ann Gibson; siblings Donna Tracy, Donald Van Valkenberg II, and Melanie Wheeler; as well as her grandchildren Courtney Marie, Racheal Mae, Autumn Elizabeth, April Renee, Kara Lynn, Emily Rose, Ashlee Marie, Sarah Jade, Dakota Lee Matthew, and great-grandchildren Addielyn Mae and Kynlee Ann.

Family will gather for funeral services at graveside at Washington Park East Cemetery on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 2 pm.
