Sandra L. Clem, 84, of Indianapolis passed away on February 5, 2022. Sandy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 27, 1937, to the late Elsie and Charles Banks. Sandy graduated from Manual High School in 1955, shortly after started working at NRHA (National Retail Hardware Association), worked there for forty plus years, then retired in 2000. Then worked full time at Cumberland Meijer retiring in 2017 at the age of 80.
She could best be remembered by her gentle nature and kind heart. It has often been said that she was smart, well-spoken and a very independent woman. She was kindhearted always putting the needs of others before her own. Sandy enjoyed spending time at the campground with her companion Gerald and his dog Snuggles. She loved to spend time with her friends and family (Especially her Grandchildren). Sandy also enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword and word search puzzles.
Sandy is survived by her loving companion of 18 years, Gerald Bonebrake; her loving son, Dennis (Pam) Mason of Frankton; her grandchildren, Benson (Jennifer) Mason of Bloomfield, Brad (Melisa) Mason of Indianapolis, Ryan (Tina) Mason of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Thaddeaus, Matthew and Adalynn of Bloomfield; Shelby (Issacs) of Greenwood, Sabrina (Victor) of Norfork, NE, Paige (Tyler) of Indianapolis and Corvin Mason of Indianapolis; great great grandchildren, Mason and Gavin of Norfork, NE, Octavious of Indianapolis; and her sister, Delores Stuard. Also, many, many nieces and nephews known and loved her as “Aunt Sandy”
She is preceded in death by her parents; Elise and Charles Banks, Husband of 42 years Robert “Bob” Clem, Sister Myrtle (Banks) Walker and Granddaughter Whitney Nicole Mason (Sandy’s first GIRL)
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 4-8Pm at Flanner Buchanan—Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. A funeral service will be held the following day at the funeral home at 11AM. Sandra will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contribution can be made in Sandy’s memory to the; Three Precious Angels Scholarship Funds or the American Cancer Society.
