Sandra Jean Brigham

Sandra Jean Brigham, 76, passed away at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Sandra was born in St. Louis, MO, on Feb. 23, 1946 to Robert Stanfield and Mary Kelley. She was a graduate of Arlington High School in Indianapolis in 1963. Sandra married O.H. “Ike” Brigham on June 29, 1978. Sandra worked proudly as a realtor from 1971 until retirement (most recently with the Sycamore Group). Sandra and Ike were active members of the Classic Car Club of America (Indiana Region) and Sandra served as editor of its quarterly title, The Hoosier Horn. In later years, she organized chess classes and tournaments in Central and East Indianapolis. A member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Sandra was spiritually devout, generous, and loving. She was passionate about reading, theology, travel, and gardening. Preceding Sandra in death were her husband, Ike Brigham of Indianapolis; grandparents M.I. and Frances McKenna of St. Louis, MO; mother, Mary Main, stepfather, Jack Main Sr., and brother, Jack Main Jr. of Indianapolis. She is survived by her children Jim Brigham, John (Kim) Brigham and Jean (Magnus) Rydberg; grandchildren Linnea, Annika, Alex and Megan; and sister, Kim VanArsdall. A blessing and memorial service will be held at Flanner Buchanan Broad Ripple on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 3 p.m. with visitation until 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
