Sammie Kaye Patterson

Sammie Kaye Patterson, 69 of Greenwood, Indiana passed away May 29, 2023. She was born on June 22, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Edgar and Maxine (Hughes) Willoughby. Sammie worked at Olin Brass in Indianapolis for many years and then went on to work for Eli Lilly to finish her working career. She enjoyed going to garage sales, shopping at thrift stores, shopping on QVC, gardening, spending time with family and cooking. Some of the family’s favorite dishes she cooked were lasagna and her fried chicken. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Sammie is survived by her loving husband, Dan Patterson, her children, Angie (Steven, Jr.) Craft, Devin (Kelly) Holtsclaw, stepchildren, Dustin Patterson, Devin Patterson, Travis J., her grandchildren, Rowan, Luke, James, Jalan, step grandchildren, Bentley, Jagger, Saylor, Wesley, Eleanor, her sisters, Irene Gumm, Susie Zaggy, Janice Robinson, Sandra Poorman, and her brothers, James Willoughby, Keith Reed, Bobby Phillips, Billy Phillips. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Brock David Holtsclaw. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, 10:00am-12:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the funeral service beginning at 12:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
