Samer Kamel Tawfik Serour, 40, of Noblesville passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019. His beautiful life story began March 6, 1979 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, upon his birth to Kamil and Nama Serour. He was also welcomed home by his sister and best friend, Sandra Serour. As a young child Samer’s journey would eventually bring him and his family all the way to Anderson, Indiana, where Samer would later attend Highland High School, graduating in 1998.
Samer fought a brave battle beginning in September 2010, after receiving a leukemia diagnosis. He would spend the next almost 9 years fighting every day just to live, and teaching all around him the value of the little things in life that create the most amazing moments and memories. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
Samer is preceded in death by his mother, Nama Serour; and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
Samer is survived by his wife and son, Brooke and Luka Serour; his father, Kamil Serour (Anderson, IN); his sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Aarik Bundy (North Port, FL); his favorite niece, Taylor Edwards (Evansville, IN); and his Uncle and Mentor, Mounir, GiGi, Pierre, and Andrew Yacoub (Jackson, NJ). Samer is also survived by many uncles, aunts, and several cousins who he dearly cherished and loved.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 beginning at 10am at the New St. Mary St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 12174 Shelborne Rd, Carmel.
