Sally Lee (Dragoo) Hart

January 24, 1946 — December 18, 2017

Indianapolis, IN

Sally Lee (Dragoo) Hart, Age 71, of Indianapolis, went to be with her Lord unexpectedly on Monday December 18, 2017. Sally was born, a twin, January 24, 1946, in Beech Grove, to Samuel H. and Laura Elizabeth (Hundley) Dragoo.  On August 02, 1986 she was united in marriage to James Ray Hart who survives.

Sally lived her early years and adult life in Indianapolis. During her school years her family lived in Spring Lake, east of Indy.  She was a graduate of New Palestine High School in 1964.  Sally went to work for an accounting firm, Carter, Kirlin & Merrill, within a few days of graduation, and retired in 2010 after working her entire career, 46 years, with that organization.

Sally was a very supportive person. She and her husband participated with a group of friends who gathered regularly to play chess. Her close family met regularly at Steak & Shake for Tuesday evening dinners together. Sally enjoyed occasional trips to Indiana’s casinos, monthly luncheon outings with her high school classmates and separately a group of her cousins.  She enjoyed some travel, touring the castles of Germany, and the lushness of Hawaii.  Sally was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include: her loving husband, Jim, of 31 years; her three sons, Andrew James Richter (Pam Marcoff) of Indianapolis, Randall Allen Richter (Jennifer) of Savanna GA and Jonathon Joseph (Lisa) Richter of Las Vegas NV; stepchildren Cevven Ray Hart (Deeann) of Muncie, and Lezlie Kay (Jeff Harlan) Hart of Indianapolis; identical twin sister, Susan Kay (David) Bardes of Indianapolis, Grandchildren Mariah Hart-Daley and Travis Nathaniel Daley; great-granddaughter, Eryn Colleen Daley.  She was also deeply attached to, and involved with, her sister’s daughter April Renee (Gregory) Johnson’s children, Samantha Violet, and twins Maxwell Thomas and Natasha Elizabeth Johnson of Avon.

Family and friends may gather to celebrate the life of Sally Hart and visit with the gathered family from 4:30pm to 8pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East.
