Ruth Margaret Tingle

December 10, 1944 — October 17, 2024

Ruth M. Tingle passed away in her Brownsburg home on October 17, 2024 at the age of 79. She was born December 10, 1944 in Indianapolis where she spent most of her life. She was the beloved wife of Phillip E Tingle who preceded her in death. Ruth is survived by her son Nathan (Jackie) Bailey and daughter Jennifer Bailey. She was very loved by her grandchildren Maxwell (Amanda) Jackson, Kayla (Tony) Jackson-Agres, and Michael Bailey, not to mention the many "adopted" grandbabies she had over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents William H. and Catherine E. Price, her brother Bill, her sister Wilma Kelly, and infant son David Michael. She is survived by her brothers Tim (Kathy) Price and David (Lena) Price, sister Christine Beard, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ruth was married to Phillip for 34 wonderful years and they spent a lot of time traveling and enjoying life together. Ruth's second home was her church home, St. Andrews Lutheran church where she spent most of her time. She was involved with the education committee and alter guild. She started St. Andrew's weekly Friendship Bible Study class and led it for many years in order to spread the bible to physically and intellectually disadvantaged youth in the community. But her first love at the church was singing in the choir, which she did for 27 years.

Ruth was a graduate of Arlington High School spent most of her career as a Certified Activities Director for several Indianapolis nursing homes. She took an early retirement when her first grandson Maxwell was born to become a professional grandmother and take care of him, his sister Kayla, and many other "grandbabies" over the years. She also volunteered at St. Andrew's pre-school, Robey Elementary, and Maplewood Elementary as a teachers assistant. Ruth touched the life of so many and she was the brightest light in the room with her friendliness, kindness, and bright personality. She will be very missed by many.
