Ruth (Roy) Schrom, 82, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on the morning of July 26th. Born in upstate New York, she enjoyed many summers on the lake with her parents and siblings.
Although she worked in various jobs early in her life, her heart really loved trading in the 9-to-5 to become a homemaker and a babysitter. The families that she cared for became family and some of those special relationships still exist today. Ruth was a great painter, often creating masterpieces to gift to loved ones. She enjoyed watching the birds that came to visit in the yard; cheering on her beloved Boston Red Sox; solving the mysteries in her favorite novels or tv shows; and enjoying the Hallmark Christmas movies. She loved to sit under the trees of Saratoga and watch the horses walk by with the jockeys.
Her memory will live on through her two children, Brenda Pickett (Chris) of Indianapolis and Barb Kilpatrick (Brian) of Greensboro, NC; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Samuel Pickett of Indianapolis, Emma, Maeve and Brennan Kilpatrick of Greensboro, NC; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is reuniting in heaven with her husband, parents, siblings, nieces Laurie and Cindy and her godson Wayne.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff for the thoughtful comfort and care they provided to her.
