A celebration of life for Ruth M. Ehlen-Kitron-Harmon is Friday, September 24, 2021, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Flanner  Buchanan-Zionsville.

Prayer services for Ruth are Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Salem United Methodist Church. Individuals wishing to pay last respects to Ruth are welcome to visit from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Ruth M. Harmon-Kitron-Ehlen (nee Hauff), age 85, of Whitestown, Indiana, was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Chandler, AZ. She was born to the late Gustov and Catherine Hauff on February 2, 1936.

Ruth graduated from Waukesha High School in 1954.
Ruth was a lifelong learner and attended classes at Ivy Tech.
Ruth loved to have fun and trained to be a professional clown.
Ruth loved feeding others and spent time perfecting her cooking skills at Second Helpings culinary school.

Ruth was the proud mother of eight children, owner of “Ruth’s Little Lambs” daycare, responsible for developing hundreds of children over many years, and a sous chef for Aramark at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis. Ruth also spent time clowning for birthday parties and area festivals and mentoring promising culinary students.

Continuing to follow her desire to serve and be in fellowship with others, Ruth finished her long and fulfilling career as a sales associate with Cracker Barrel before retiring at age 82 in 2018. Ruth led an active life spending time with family and friends, at church, in Al-Anon meetings, crocheting, sewing, playing cards, shopping for bargains at thrift stores, and traveling.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, 3rd husband Rush J. Harmon Jr., 2nd husband George L. Kitron, and older sister Betty Pederlick.
Ruth is survived by eight children, daughter Ava Edlin (Roger), son Doug Ehlen (Alice), daughter Marteen Sparks (Kim), daughter Sandra Thrine (Mathew), daughter Rebecca Brenneke (Dave Haney), son Anthony Ehlen (Theresa), daughter Patricia Wallace (Bryan), and son Charles Kitron (Jaime), nineteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
