Ruth Joann Miller

Ruth Joann Miller of Morristown died October 14, 2020 at the age of 88. 

Joann was born March 9, 1932 in Indianapolis to the late Frank L. and Dorothy E. Reid. She spent the majority of her life living in the same area and raising her four young children there as well. Joann was a hard working woman spending her career as an inspector at C.H. Ellis to provide for her family as a single mother. 

Joann was a fighter to the end. She did not let life get her down even when it stole her memories; she still found her smile and laugh. Joann shared her love for life and laughter with so many people in her long life.  Anyone that had the opportunity to know Joann was blessed with a smile, a laugh, and her twinkling blue eyes. 

She is survived by her children Freddy L. Miller (Barb Andis) and Linda Nelson (Lynn Webb); grandsons Scott Juarez, Jaimie Lyons, Dean Latham, Randy Latham, Ben Nelson, and Toby Andis; granddaughters Michelle Latham, Nikki Nelson, and Dodi Chase; many great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin “Andy” Andis; children Jimmy Miller, Debbie Miller, and Sandra K Miller; stepson Les Andis; and brother Frank C. Reid. 

The family would like to thank Morristown Manor for the loving care that you provided for Joann, Hancock Regional Transitions Unit for your wonderful nurses and technicians; you guys are one in a million! We also want to thank Suburban Hospice for all of your compassion during a very long and difficult time.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 20 from 12 PM until the time of her service at 2 PM in Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St, Indianapolis.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
