Ruth Jean Venne

Ruth Jean Venne, 88, of Greenfield, passed away at home with family present on March 4, 2019.

Jean was born on February 8, 1931 in Paragon, Indiana to the late Fred and Opal Dow. Jean enjoyed taking photos and scrapbooking, quilting and gardening, but above all she enjoyed time spent visiting with family and attending various events for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 68 years, Eugene Venne; children, Gerald Venne (Jeaninne), Michael Venne (Marcia), Deborah Bush (Rusty), Karen Venne; son-in-law, Phil Appleman; 12 grandchildren, Evan, Mary, Christopher, Timothy, Melissa (Neal), John “Jay” (Alyssa), Andrew (Brittany), Alexander (Nikki), Russell, Dorian, Ryan, Morgan (Chad); 12 great-grandchildren; cousin, Bette Jane Dow; and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; 5 siblings; and daughter, Becky Appleman.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday, March 7, from 5:00-8:00pm and Friday, March 8, from 10:00am-11:00am at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Friendship Park Cemetery in Paragon, Indiana.
