Ruth Irene Curtis

Ruth Irene Curtis, 100, of Indianapolis, passed away July 3, 2017. Ruth was born April 15, 1917 in Pekin (Washington County) Indiana the daughter of the late Ellis Hayes and Catherine (Wire) Martin. She graduated from Pekin High School and Married Norman S. Curtis March 19, 1938 and he preceded her in death. She worked at D.C. Heath Publishing Company and Warren Central High School. She was a Charter member of Fountain Square Church of Christ and enjoyed yard and house work, word search puzzles and helping neighbors and family. Ruth was also preceded in death by her son, Martin Allen Curtis; her brother, Roland Martin and sister, Hazel Mahurin.

Ruth is survived by her son, John Curtis; her grandson, Jonathan Curtis of Fishers, Indiana and a niece, Marilyn Perigo of Evansville, IN.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Entombment in Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the service time at the funeral home.
