Ruth Carol Dougherty

Ruth Carol Dougherty, 92, of Indianapolis passed away April 18, 2017.

Ruth was born November 29, 1924 in Indianapolis to the late Ralph H. and Myrtle M. Wilkins. She enjoyed bird watching, traveling, and spending time with her family.

She leaves behind her husband of 68 years, Claude H. Dougherty; children, Darryl (Teri) Dougherty, David (Blaire) Dougherty, Claudia (Bill) Banker, Doug (Betsy) Dougherty, Chuck (Debbie) Dougherty, Laura (David) Lividini, Lisa (Ed) Wilde; 29 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her mother, father, step-mother Rosa Hyatt Wilkins, and brothers Gerald and Donald Wilkins, and sister Doris “Peggy” Wilkins.

Friends and family are invited to gather 4:00-8:00pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East. A funeral service will take place 11:00am on Friday, April 21, 2017 with one hour of visitation prior at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 2015 S. Arlington Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46203. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery following services.
