Ruth Ann Rieke

Ruth Ann Rieke, 88, peacefully passed away Wednesday, 8 April, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Ann Rieke was in the care of Willow Lake Place, Indianapolis and was a former member of St Luke’s Methodist Church, Indianapolis.
Born in Frankfort, Indiana 18 June, 1931 to William and Marie Brookie, brother Dan Brookie. Ann graduated from Frankfort HS and attended Columbia College (formerly Christian college) in Columbia, MO before marrying Herbert W Rieke in September of 1956, her husband of 64 years, also of Indianapolis. Ann loved entertaining family at home, especially during holidays – fondue was her favorite. Memories from functions with school groups, family reunions, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be cherished forever. In quiet moments Ann enjoyed sewing, gardening and crafts – especially proud to display American Red White and Blue in clothes, artwork and decorations – a devoted patriot. Ann is survived by her husband Herb, sons Danny J Rieke (Lore Afflerbach-Rieke) (Indianapolis), Ron E Rieke (Amy Shirk-Rieke) (Houston, TX) and daughter Joyce L Rieke-Baughman (Bruce Baughman) (Champaign, IL) as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
