Ruby Naomi Scott Cochran

Ruby was a wonderful Mom, Mama, Sister, Aunt and friend to everyone.

She was a true Angel on earth! She had a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord, her family and helping anyone who needed it.

She loved going to yard sales, flea markets, shopping and always out to eat!

She loved to cook for people and see them enjoying her meals. It could be a casual breakfast for one of her kids, a big Thanksgiving feast for her family, any church member or friend that was sick.

She loved to set up at flea markets and always enjoyed meeting new friends. She loved to make people smile!

The world will miss her beautiful smile, but heaven has gained a very special Angel!

She was married to Shirley Cochran for 69 years. She had three children: Darlene Cochran Williams of Indianapolis, Jerry Wayne Cochran (Betty) of Mooresville and Vanessa Kay Cochran (Johnny Trammel) of Indianapolis. She had four Grandchildren: Tommy Wise (Sandra), Carla Cochran, Angela Cochran (Kevin Tandy) and Karen Cochran. She had six Great Grandchildren: Karri Wise (Andy), Kyle Wise (Taylor), Kaylee Wise (Seth), Cory Blanford, Addi Mills and Mya Tandy.

She had eight living sisters: Doris Brown (Liberty, KY), Catherine Smith (Indiana), Jewel Payton (Liberty, KY), Phyliss Lamb (Liberty, KY), Carol Lee (Versailles, KY), Wanda (Bearl) King (Liberty, KY), Margaret Rodgers (Liberty, KY) and Mary (Harlan) Shoopman (Liberty, KY). She had two living brothers: Benny (Linda) Scott and Larry Scott.  She had a sister-in-law Jeanetta (Junior) Allen (Waynesburg, KY).

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband: Shirley Cochran, her parents: Ben and Dorthy Scott, a sister: Sue (Ronnie) Cochran, two brothers: Hubert (Ruby) Scott, David (Georgia) Scott and two son- in- laws: Joel D Wise and Harold S Williams.

Ruby was 87 years old, September 4, 1934 – November 11, 2021.

She had been a member of West Newton Full Gospel for 50+ years.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2021 from 4 to 8 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township.  Service will be Wednesday, October 17, 2021 at 2 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Decatur Township. For those unable to attend, you can view a Live Stream of there service HERE. Reverend Scott Cochran will be officiating.  Burial will follow at West Newton Cemetery.
